Welcome to Monks Orchard Primary School and Nursery!

We are currently in the process of expanding from two forms of entry to three by 2018.  At present, we have three reception and three year one classes.

In September 2013, our new Rainbow Building was opened by the Mayor of Croydon. It has nine classrooms, each with its own decor in a colour of the rainbow.  Years 1, 2 and 3 are housed in this lovely building.

Year one classes each have their own outdoor learning area for the first time in the school's history. Monks Orchard Primary School was first opened in 1936 with seven classes and we recently celebrated the school's 75th anniversary.  Over the years, many improvements to the facilities have taken place. The Nursery was opened in 1999 and is extremely popular with parents and is consistently oversubscribed. Some of the recent improvements include a school library, a music studio and newly refurbished computer room.   Both playgrounds have areas with climbing equipment. The juniors also have a large games cage and a fitness trail.

The grounds have been newly landscaped around the new building but still leave two large open green spaces for football, athletics etc.

Our strength, as a school, lies in our ethos which is based on the school's golden rule, "Treat others as you would like to be treated yourself."   Childen's behaviour and manners, concerning respect for others, is outstanding. We regularly receive glowing reports from places the classes have visited.
