Information about the School Council
The School Council is the voice for the children in the school. They regularly canvas the views of the children in their classes to find out what is important to them and what improvements they feel the school should make.
This year the School Council felt that we should improve the activities in the playground and have more mufti days. To raise money for the playground we have planned regular cakes sales and mufti days. So far this year we have raised around £900.
School Council visit to the Houses of Parliament
Following her visit to Rowdown Primary School, Sarah Jones (Labour MP for Croydon) kindly invited the School Council to the Houses of Parliament. We were very interested in all the paintings, décor and statues and were lucky enough to watch live debates in the House of Commons and the House of Lords. At the end, we went into a meeting room and we impressed Sarah with our interesting questions about the economy, fuel prices and nurses. We also had a few suggestions for Sarah on how the government could do better.
