The Hive
Welcome to The Hive at Monks Orchard Primary School, a purpose-built Enhanced Learning Provision designed to support children with a primary diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Monks Orchard Primary is an inclusive and accessible school that offers a wide range of tailored educational opportunities for children.
The Hive officially opened in September 2024 to serve children from across the Borough of Croydon. Admission to The Hive is managed through the Croydon SEN Department, and the provision accommodates up to 18 full-time places. All pupils enrolled in The Hive have an Education, Health, and Care Plan (EHCP).
The Hive provides specialised teaching, dedicated support, and a personalised curriculum within a small-group setting that ensures a high adult-to-child ratio. Our aim is to offer pupils a rich and varied educational experience, incorporating activities such as art, forest school, and participation in a steel band. Students will also have opportunities to access the wider curriculum, either within mainstream classes or within The Hive itself.
